They existed when you were working. And the still exist now. Those lazy days when you just don’t feel like doing anything. Here’s the difference though. When you were working, you couldn’t – or wouldn’t – allow yourself a lazy day. Now that you’re not, there’s nothing standing in your way.
Lazy days are somewhat like rainy days, but can happen anytime, no matter what the weather. They are the days you take for yourself. To do what you want. To do what helps to relax and re-energize you. For this reason, they were really important when we were working. But they are just as important now.
There is no right or wrong answer as to what to do on these days. Only you can decide what your mind and your body needs to be at its best.
Maybe you’re mind needs an escape or some time to just be. What is the best way to accomplish that? Read a book? Maybe you want to go to the beach or sit by the pool. You’ll get some sun (although be sure to wear sunscreen!), too, which is a great source of Vitamin D and a step toward keeping your body healthy.
Or maybe you want to do something more active. Remember, exercise really is all around us. Maybe you want to get out in your garden. Or go for a hike or a run.
Take advantage of these days. Use them. Do nothing. Have no to do list or responsibility for the day. It will help keep you mind clear and your attitude and focus positive.
