So Much To Be Thankful For

Thankful

Thanksgiving is now behind us. And what a Thanksgiving it was! The entire weekend was filled with activities, with family and friends. And of course football! It was a whirlwind of activity – exhausting even – but so, so worth it. Why? Because it reminded me of how much I have to be thankful for. How much each of us have to be thankful for.

In a roundabout way, we’ve talked about all that we have to be thankful for. Family. Friends. Health. Unfortunately, as we go through our daily grind, whatever that grind may be, it’s easy to forget about all we have. How fortunate we are. And just how much we have to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving was filled with family. Some family we get to see often, but others we only have the opportunity to see every once in a while.

The rest of the weekend was filled with – of course football! – friends. Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t say that some of those friends are family and some of friends I consider family. There were friends we see each week, and others we only see a couple times each year. But it doesn’t matter how often we see them. Friends are friends.

But there were also the family and friends we didn’t see. Those who weren’t able to come home for Thanksgiving. And those who have passed away. Their absence made me even more thankful for when I would see them again, and thankful that I had the blessing of having them in my life.

Yes, Thanksgiving is always busy. And the kick-off to an even busier season. But it also makes us take a step back, and reflect on and remember all that we have to be thankful for.

And yes, I’m also thankful that 2 our of my 4 football teams won. 🙂
