I get it. Trust me; I get it. You spent years cultivating your career. Sometimes at the expense of other parts of your life. But you took comfort in believing it was worth it because you were contributing in the best way you thought you were able. You were bringing in a steady – sometimes generous – income. You attached your worth to your paycheck.
But now that paycheck doesn’t roll in on a regular basis. And maybe you haven’t found that new job that you thought would be easy to get with all of your experience. Finances are down as the cost of living continues to rise. And, as a result, tensions rise at home, too. Frustration over what had been being no longer. So what is your worth now? Since you spent all your time at work, did you really contribute to the rest of the home? Do you really have a worth?
The answer is an emphatic YES!! Everybody has worth, value. And it has nothing to do with a paycheck. It has to do with who you are as a person… how you treat others, how you define your own, personal morals and ethics. You determine your worth. No one else.
Thinking otherwise is the work of an idle mind, letting your thoughts and the comments of others get the best of you. Think of all you do, regardless of what is said, for your family, for your home. Chances are, you are the glue that has been holding everything together. And better than it was held together in the past.
